Hi everyone! What a beautiful weekend this was. I hope everyone had some time to play outside - adults included. We had a busy week last week. Our student teacher, Miss Pringle spent her first full week with us. She is already such an important part of our class and the students are comfortable going to her for help and advice.
Anthony DiLorenzo wrote the following introduction to Miss Pringle:
We have a new student teacher and her name is Miss Pringle. She is fabulous. Every morning she writes a question on the white board and gives us sticky notes to answer them. Today's question was 'Would you rather be the worst player on the winning team or the best player on the worst team.' She also teaches us social studies. She teaches us about the continents and lets us do research about the oceans. My table is learning about the Atlantic Ocean which is my favorite. She has her own desk which has three papers on it that says 'Welcome Miss Pringle.' She also has her own crayons, pencils and sticky notes and she has tissues. She has a comfy chair that has wheels! That is what we know about Ms. Pringle.
We are also happy to report that we received a new Guided Reading table that was gifted by the PTA. Our old was was very shaky and since it is used many times a day, a new one was much needed! Madeline reports that "the new one does not wiggle and it is taller than the last one!" Thank you PTA!
Ben and Cameron are happy to report on the dance parties that we have been having lately:
This week we had several dance parties. We get them when we are good and work hard. It is so much fun - the boys go in the back and the girls go in the front. We get to pick the song and go nuts! See some pictures below!
This week is the last week for Multiplication. We will have a review tomorrow and test on Tuesday. I am confident that the students will do well, we have done so many activities and practice sheets. We are beginning division on Wednesday and the kids are so excited.
This is also the last week for Social Studies. We will be wrapping up continents and oceans and have a test on Friday. Next Monday, the students will switch to Science taught my Mrs. Moretti and Miss Pringle.
The class is also happy to report that their favorite activity of the week was comparing and contrasting using hula hoops and index cards. Wait until the see what we have in store for them this week!
I hope everyone has a great week and GO PATS!
